11. DO WE MAKE UPDATES TO THIS NOTICE?
In Short: Yes, we will update this notice as necessary to stay compliant with relevant laws.
We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by an updated "Revised" date at the top of this Privacy Notice. If we make material changes to this Privacy Notice, we may notify you either by prominently posting a notice of such changes or by directly sending you a notification. We encourage you to review this Privacy Notice frequently to be informed of how we are protecting your information.
12. HEALTHKIT INTEGRATION (APPLE HEALTH)
In Short: Apple Health data is processed entirely on your device, never transmitted to external servers, and used only to display information to you and to record your logged vitamin and mineral intake to Apple Health.
VitaReminder integrates with Apple HealthKit to provide objective health data alongside your wellness tracking. When you connect Apple Health, we may read the following data types from your device: sleep analysis, heart rate variability, active energy burned, mindful sessions, and step count.
When you connect Apple Health, VitaReminder also writes your logged vitamin and mineral intake — with values — back to Apple Health so your Health app reflects what you have taken. Only recognized vitamins and minerals that have a matching Apple Health dietary nutrient category are written (for example: Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin D, Vitamin E, Vitamin K, Vitamin B12, Biotin, Folate, Iron, Zinc, Calcium, Magnesium, Chromium, and Iodine). Wellness supplements without a matching Apple Health category — such as Ashwagandha, Lion's Mane, adaptogens, mushroom blends, and similar items — are never written to Apple Health. Writeback applies only to the primary profile on this device; secondary profiles never write to Apple Health, even when they display Apple Health information. Writes reflect the day you logged the supplement (so a retroactive log records to that historical day, not the current moment). If you later edit a supplement's dosage or remove a logged check-off, the corresponding Apple Health entries are updated or removed to match.
All Apple Health data processing occurs entirely on your device. Apple Health data is never transmitted to any external server or shared with third parties — the only external destination is Apple Health itself, on the same device. You may disconnect Apple Health at any time through the app's settings or through your device's Privacy & Security settings; disconnecting stops future writes but does not automatically remove entries previously written to Apple Health, which you can delete manually from the Apple Health app.
In accordance with Apple's HealthKit policies, we do not use HealthKit data for advertising or any use other than providing health and fitness services. We do not disclose HealthKit data to third parties for advertising purposes, or to data brokers.
13. SUBSCRIPTION AND PAYMENT INFORMATION
In Short: Apple processes all payments through the App Store. We never collect or store your payment information.
VitaReminder offers optional premium features through in-app subscriptions and one-time purchases processed by Apple through the App Store. All payment information is handled by Apple according to their privacy policy. We do not collect, store, or have access to any payment information such as credit card numbers, bank account details, or billing addresses.
Your subscription status is tracked locally on your device using Apple's StoreKit framework. We may receive anonymous transaction confirmations from Apple to verify your subscription status but do not receive any personally identifiable payment information.
You may manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID account settings. When you cancel, your subscription remains active until the end of your current billing period.
14. MULTI-PROFILE SUPPORT
In Short: You may create multiple profiles for family members or others. Each profile's data stays on your device. You are responsible for obtaining any necessary consent when tracking someone else.
VitaReminder supports the creation of multiple profiles on a single device, allowing users to track supplements for family members, dependents, patients, or others. Each profile's data is stored separately on your device and is not shared between profiles or transmitted to any external server.
When creating a profile for another individual, you are responsible for obtaining any necessary consent from that person. You are also responsible for ensuring compliance with any applicable laws regarding the health information of others, including but not limited to HIPAA if you are using the app in a professional capacity.
For profiles representing children under 13, the app provides a simplified experience with restricted functionality. No personalized recommendations, wellness insights, or check-ins are provided for child profiles. Parents and guardians are responsible for creating and managing child profiles and for any decisions regarding supplement use by minors, which should always be made in consultation with a pediatrician or healthcare provider.
